Get started with seshn
Set up your gym, studio, or practice on seshn — from accepting your invitation through getting your first class on the schedule. The whole thing takes about fifteen minutes.
Before you start
seshn is invite-only today. The seshn team creates your account and sends an admin invitation to your email. If you haven't received one yet and want to evaluate seshn for your business, get in touch from the homepage.
What you'll need before you start:
- The invitation email from seshn (subject begins “Set up your … account”).
- A way to sign in: an email address you control, or a Google or Apple account.
- For payments: your business legal info and a bank account for payouts. You can connect this later — Stripe isn't required to finish the wizard.
1. Accept your invitation
Open the invitation email and click Create Your Admin Account (or Access Your Dashboard if you already have a seshn account). The link takes you to the invitation acceptance page.
The link is valid for seven days. If it expires before you can use it, ask the person who invited you to resend it.
2. Set up sign-in
Pick one of three sign-in methods. The email on whichever method you choose has to match the email the invitation was sent to.
- Email and password. Set a password and you'll be asked to enroll in two-factor authentication on your next sign-in. Two-factor is required for accounts using email and password.
- Sign in with Google. One click, no separate password to remember.
- Sign in with Apple. Same idea, for Apple accounts.
Once you authenticate, you'll be redirected to your dashboard.
3. Walk through the setup wizard
On first login, seshn sends you to a setup wizard at /onboarding. The wizard adapts to your business type, so you'll see a few steps tailored to what you do — combat sports academies see different steps than yoga studios or tattoo shops.
Every step is skippable. You can come back to any step from Settings, or use the Skip setup for now link at the bottom to dismiss the wizard entirely. The wizard auto-resumes at the first incomplete step the next time you visit it.
The most common steps:
Connect Stripe
The wizard hands you off to Stripe's onboarding flow to verify your business and connect a bank account. When Stripe finishes verification, the step auto-completes. You can leave this for later — just know that paid memberships and private sessions are blocked until Stripe is active. See Connect Stripe and accept payments for the full walk-through.
Set up sports (combat sports academies)
Toggle the sports your academy teaches. Today, that's BJJ and Muay Thai — more sports release over time. For belt-based sports, pick the rank system you use (for BJJ: IBJJF kids ranks vs. simplified traditional). The step auto-completes as soon as you enable at least one sport. Yoga and tattoo tenants don't see this step.
Create your first class
The wizard sends you to Schedule › Classes to create one. Pick a session type, instructor, time, and recurrence. The class is bookable as soon as you save it. See Build your class schedule for what the form asks for.
Invite your first member
Adds the first person who can book and attend. The wizard sends you to the members roster, where you invite a member by email. See Add and manage your members for the full flow.
Add an instructor or staff member
Adds someone who can teach classes (and, in combat sports, perform belt promotions). Goes to Members; add or edit a staff member and set their role. The step auto-completes when at least one staff member is configured.
Set up a waiver
Create the liability waiver members sign before their first session. You can upload your existing waiver text or write one in the editor. Optional, but most academies want one in place before they invite members.
Verify it worked
When the wizard says You're All Set!, click Go to Dashboard and check three things:
- Your first class shows up on the schedule for the day you scheduled it.
- Your test member can sign in to the mobile app and see the class.
- Stripe shows as connected under Settings › Payments (if you completed that step).
If you skipped steps, you'll see a banner at the top of the dashboard with the remaining setup. Click it to jump back into the wizard at any time.
